Packing List

THINGS YOU NEED

ESSENTIALS

  • ID or Passport* to get on the plane *(Passport not required since Puerto Rico is a part of the United States!)

  • Credit Card – Widely accepted in Puerto Rico so you shouldn’t need to use much cash except for tips.

  • Cash – US Dollars. Mostly for tips for our tours/excursions (the general rule of thumb is to tip 15–20%). Also good to have some extra cash in case you want to buy a fresh coconut off the beach or something.

  • Sunscreen – Reef-safe sunscreen is suggested for our catamaran snorkeling tour (this one is our favorite). The tour company also asks not to use spray-on sunscreen because it makes the boat deck slippery.

  • Light towel – Towels are not provided for our catamaran tour. The towels from Costa Rica would be perfect for this, just sayin’.

  • Sunglasses – So your eyes don’t get spicy.

  • Toiletries – Toothbrush, skincare, makeup, etc.

suggestions

  • Face masks – No longer required for domestic air travel or within Puerto Rico, but individual establishments may still require masks. And you know people are gross on airplanes so we will be wearing ours.

  • Medications – Dramamine or similar for our boat rides if you tend to get motion sickness, Tums for all that tasty food, Advil for all that rum, Senna if you have the same travel problem as Linny…

  • Camera(s) – Duh! Bring your zoom lens for the rainforest. Remember your GoPro if you have one + any water accessories you may have for it.

  • Chargers – Phone, camera, etc. Puerto Rico uses the same outlet as the US so you will not need any converters.

  • Water bottle – The water in Puerto Rico is safe to drink and to the same standards as mainland U.S.

CLOTHING

FIT LIST BY DAY

  • Airplane / Travel Day – Comfortable airplane clothing. (We will go to the house before we go to our rum tour so you will be able to change.)

  • Wednesday / Rum Tour – Could be casual, could dress up if you want to. I will wear a dress, Peter will most likely wear a tropical button down shirt and shorts.

  • Thursday / Snorkel Tour – Bathing suit with something you can wear over it / easily take on and off. A hat would be a good idea since we will be in the sun all day.

  • Friday / Day in Old San Juan – Old San Juan is super cute and “instagramable” so I would dress ready for pictures. It will be hot and we will be walking around a lot so think light clothing and cute but comfy walking shoes. I will wear a crop top + skirt set or dress with a hat and sandals. Peter will wear a button-down, shorts, and hat.

  • Friday Night – Fancy outfit for pirate boat sunset cruise > Party bus > Bar hopping. Think clubbing meets pirate whoore. *Ladies may want to bring a cardigan or shawl for the boat ride (we will have a bag for the party bus we can put them in after). If you want to wear heels – wedges, platforms, or block heels are recommended for the boat + are more comfy for a night of dancing anyway ;). Peter is thinking (basically) his wedding outfit, I will be wearing a mesh black dress with a corset.

  • Saturday / Rainforest Tour – Clothes suitable for a moderate hike through the rainforest, with a swim suit underneath. Comfortable walking/hiking shoes (everyone in the pictures has tennis shoes but wear ones you don’t mind getting muddy).

  • Additional: Comfy clothing for hanging around the house in the evenings, swimsuits for the pool!
